Miwa Takabayashi is a Japanese artist based in London. She studied fine art at Goldsmiths College, London, and completed her MA and PhD in Fine Art at Newcastle University. She specialises in paper folding using various materials and techniques, and oil painting using various unique styles. Her studio is in Stockwell, London. Her Packaged project has been featured in several published art books including ‘Card Board Book’ from Ginko Press, ‘Kinetic Architecture’ and Paper Design by Alfonso Acocella.

Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Miwa grew up in the ultra modern centre, Shinjuku, among the neon lights, towering skyscrapers, and bustling nightlife in heart of the city. She has lived in London for over 20 years. Her work sits at the intersection between traditional Japanese art and forward looking contemporary art.
